Adwords Google is the king of PPC marketing. It has the largest audience and in the Internet Marketing world that means everything. You see the vast majority of people use Google. The people who use Google encompass every demographic and niche around … so if you cut yourself off from Google you are cutting yourself off from the majority of your potential customers … and that of course would be insane.
Adwords Google is the fast track to success. You can put up and ad and within 48 hours know if you have a winner or a loser. It could take you months of work and countless hours of tweeking to get the same results from SEO. It kind of begs the question why anyone would bother with SEO (well that are actually some very good reasons, but that’s not what this article is about. There are times and places for SEO and other forms of marketing, but nothing should replace PPC… it simply works too fast to ignore it. People usually avoid PPC because they are afraid of it … with good reason, you can lose money extremely fast with Adwords Google or any of the other networks.
The trick to making a killing at PPC (as opposed to losing your shirt) is to make sure that you truly understand your niche. The goal of a good PPC campaign is to write an ad that resonates with your niche and makes them want to click on it. Usually this means that you need to convey that you understand whatever their problem is and you have the solution to it. In order to do this you really need to know everything you can about the niche that you are targeting … how else can you understand their problems and write ad copy in Adwords Google that will be compelling to them?
Ask yourself these questions: What does my niche want? What do they need? What can I offer them? How can I solve their problems? Those are the key questions you must be able to answer if you want to write compelling ad copy. Additionally you need to figure out what your audience is searching for. What keywords and phrases are the using when they try to find the answer to their problems? To a certain extent this will take some guess work on your part, but you can use Google’s Keyword Tool to help you along.
After you have your keyword list and made your first Adwords Google campaign be sure to track your results and split test. Always test. Test everything. That is the only way you can learn what works and what does not work.
